Operation process for replacing electronic fan of KIA MOHAVE 2007-2016 model

1 .Preparation before replacement

Security protection

Turn off the vehicle and remove the key, tighten the handbrake, and cool down to room temperature (water temperature<50 ℃).

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery (prioritize removing the black terminal post).

Tools and Accessories

Essential tools: 10-14mm socket wrench, Phillips screwdriver, pointed nose pliers.

Model confirmation: It is necessary to match the 2007-2016 MOHAVE dedicated electronic fan (purchased according to the old part model).

2. Disassemble the old electronic fan

Positioning and disassembly

Open the engine compartment, the electronic fan is located behind the radiator and may be obstructed by the intake duct (some models require the intake duct to be removed first).

Use a screwdriver to remove the fixing buckle of the fan cover and expose the main body of the electronic fan.

Disconnect

Remove the power plug of the electronic fan (hold the buckle and pull it out vertically, do not forcefully pull the wiring harness).

Remove the 4 bolts (usually 10mm in size) that fix the bracket and loosen them diagonally to avoid deformation of the bracket.

Remove old parts

Hold both sides of the electronic fan with both hands and pull it out parallel to the back to avoid scratching the radiator fins.

(Model adaptation prompt: The intake module needs to be removed first for the 2007-2010 models; it can be directly operated for the 2011-2016 models)

3. Install a new electronic fan

Position calibration

Align the new electronic fan with the bracket groove and push it into place, ensuring that the gap between the blades and the radiator is greater than 5mm.

Fixing and wiring

Tighten the bracket bolts in diagonal order in stages (recommended torque 8-12N · m).

Insert the power connector back and confirm locking with a "click" sound.

4. Testing and Validation

Function testing

Connect the negative terminal of the battery and start the engine to run at idle speed.

Turn on the A/C switch of the air conditioner, and the electronic fan should start within 30 seconds (it may be delayed in low temperature environments).

Abnormal investigation

Not running: Check the fuse (engine compartment 15A/30A) and relay (K5/K7 socket).

Abnormal noise/shaking: Confirm that the bracket bolts are evenly stressed and that there is no interference with the blades.

Safety reminder: After the first operation, check the coolant level to prevent the introduction of bubbles during installation that may cause high temperatures.
