The installation precautions for the electric fan in the 2013-2016 HYUNDAI SANTA FE:
I. Safety Preparation & Old Part Removal
Power Disconnection & Cooling:
Turn off the vehicle and disconnect the negative battery terminal (wait ≥15 minutes) to prevent short circuits.
Operate only after the engine cools completely to avoid burns.
Removing the Old Electric Fan:
The fan is typically located behind the radiator; remove obstructions like the intake pipe (common in Hyundai models).
Use socket tools to remove mounting bolts (usually 4 diagonally positioned), and gently unplug the wire connector to avoid damaging the harness.
II. Key Points for New Fan Installation
Positioning & Fixation:
Ensure ≥3cm clearance between the new fan and radiator to prevent vibration friction.
Tighten bolts diagonally in stages to distribute force evenly (over-tightening may damage the bracket).
Electrical Connection:
Plug must be fully inserted with the locking mechanism engaged. If mismatched, adjust wiring sequence (Hyundai-specific interfaces possible).
Route wiring away from heat sources (e.g., exhaust pipe) and secure with zip ties to prevent abrasion.
