The testing process for the 2010-2014 Hyundai Rainier after replacing the electronic fan:
1.Basic circuit testing (power-off operation)
Power and grounding inspection
Power cord: Unplug the fan plug, connect the red probe of the multimeter to the power terminal (corresponding to the original car plug identification), and ground the black probe. The normal voltage should be 12V (also maintained when the key is turned off).
Grounding wire: Measure the resistance between the power terminal and the grounding terminal. An abnormally high resistance (or open circuit) indicates poor grounding.
Power on test:
Directly connect the positive and negative poles of the battery to the new fan plug (pay attention to polarity), and it should run smoothly without any abnormal noise.
2.Temperature triggered test (starting engine)
Low temperature verification:
When starting a cold car (water temperature<83 ℃), the fan should not run.
High temperature trigger:
Run the engine until the water temperature is ≥ 90 ℃ (observe the instrument panel), and the fan should start automatically.
If not activated: immediately check the temperature sensor plug, relay, and fuse (with a focus on fuse 24 in zone B).
3.Air conditioning linkage test
Force start verification:
Turn on the AC switch of the air conditioner, and the fan should run synchronously at high speed (regardless of the water temperature).
Observation of heat dissipation performance:
After running the air conditioner for 5 minutes, touch the high and low pressure pipelines:
High pressure pipes should be hot to the touch (normal pressure ≈ 1.5~2.5MPa);
Low pressure pipe slightly cooled (≈ 0.15~0.25MPa).
If the high pressure rises abnormally, it may cause the compressor to shut down due to insufficient fan cooling.
